I think I just fell asleep sitting up.
I woke up at 6 this morning, in that way where nothing will put you back to bed except a swift punch to the head. You know, when you feel like you can attack the day head-on because you’re up so early that it must be for a particular reason. So I made lunch for the second time this week (and maybe the third time this year). I checked my newly-formed Twitter page (I’m @okwithwords), my e-mail, my Facebook. I listened to Justin Nozuka. Straightened my hair. Left early for my internship. Read Eggers (which I’m finally this close to done with) until my internship started at 9. I even cut circles from a piece of paper (for an InDesign project, some of which will be posted later).
And then I remember staring at breast cancer statistics for a press release introduction at about 3 p.m. And then it was 4 o’clock. I lost an hour. It disappeared up my sleeve. Sleight of hand. A gag. I shoved it under half a coconut and swapped it with another. What the hell just happened?
One more hour to go. Then class. Then four more hours to go.
I can’t lose another hour.
Sweet dreams.
