A Pause, A Poem

With Maid of Honor duties and a graduation only about three or so weeks away, I’ve been busy. While this is no real excuse for anything, I thought I’d at least share a lovely little e-pub-related class doodle, and a poem from undergrad.

Moon Dance
written October 3, 2008

Write, she said.

And so I wrote on paper
moons that hung from ceilings,
spinning as if dizzied by the sun
that danced around it
saying “Catch me, Moon.
Catch and kiss me.”

The moon spread its fingers out to touch
the wisps of stardust,
falling from the sun’s skirt
and playing hide and seek beneath the lightning bugs.
