FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
“Alexa & the Old-Fashioneds releases new song just in time for the holiday season…in Florida”
MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES – December 19 – A band seemingly without a genre, Alexa & the Old-Fashioneds is heading into the holiday season with a new addition to their ever-expanding catalog with their Florida-themed Christmas song, A Miami Holiday, coming out Friday, December 19, 2025 at midnight.
Written by award-winning vocalist and songwriter Alexa Lash, “A Miami Holiday” is a laden with imagery unique to a South Florida holiday in one of the many apartments dotting the city. While incredibly personal, the song is also an observational run through all the things that make winter in Miami special: art during Art Basel, tourists running around in high socks, and of course Netflix fireplaces and balcony gardens. Overall, “A Miami Holiday” really speaks to Lash’s personal life evolving out of love…the holidays serve as an avenue to grow from childhood trauma, and to create new, loving memories with a wonderful partner. There’s also a cameo from a local actress who introduces the song playfully: “Mommy, how come there are no songs about a Miami Christmas?”
Well, happy to say, now there definitely is.
About the Band
Alexa & the Old-Fashioneds have made a name for themselves through their 90s’-esque, genre-defying approach to songwriting—merging poetry with modern pop, rock, and experimenting with genres outside the expected. It’s never about the style of music, so much about Lash’s legend-making vocals, playing frontwoman to a ridiculously powerful rhythm section and sweet, melodic guitar solos…and telling a heartfelt story. A Miami Holiday is another gem from a band that is never quite what you expect them to be.
To celebrate the release, the band is working on a really unique music video to be launched at the end of December. Let’s just say, it’s REALLY going to be COOL.
